With Every Level There’s A New Devil

I was listening to a podcast recently while on a run when I heard the following statement…

“With every level there’s a new devil.”

I thought, how true.

The idea that with every new level of success we achieve, there’s a new devil awaiting us.

Ready to challenge us.

Just when we think we’re in the clear.

I use to wish these darn devils away.

Now I welcome them.

Because I know while they are devils (challenges), they’re there for me.

To prepare me for that next level of success I’m after.

It took me a while to understand this and be OK with it.

And while I understand it, doesn’t always mean I like it.

I don’t.

Some challenges are much tougher than others.

The ones that have me feeling like I may never make it through.

But somehow, someway, I always do.

And in doing so, I gain the strength, confidence, and faith necessary to get me through even bigger challenges that await me.

I can’t help but think of Super Mario Brothers the game.

And how each level had new challenges, new devils I had to beat and overcome to make it to the next level.

And then the next, and the next.

Same is life.

New and different challenges in my business at every new level.

Helping me to get better in order to get to the next level.

New financial challenges at every new milestone I reach.

New relationship challenges every year together.

All these challenges there to prepare me for the next level of success I seek in any one of these areas.

Looking back, it’s always been during the most challenging times in my life that I have grown the most.

That have prepared me for the challenges ahead as I search for even higher ground.

More health, happiness, and fulfillment.

As my mentor the late Jim Rohn taught me…

“Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better.”

Overcoming challenges at each new level is what allows me to continue getting better, stronger.

More in this episode of my Mornings With Mike podcast.

Thanks for being here.

You’re awesome…

Mike
