I’m asked all the time, Mike… Do I need to take a multivitamin? Well the answer is no, you don’t NEED to take a multivitamin although I would highly recommend it. I’ve been taking a multivitamin for as long as I can remember. I use to love taking my Flintstone’s vitamins as a kid and always looked forward to it so perhaps I’m bias to taking one. I’ve read numerous information on the pros and cons of taking vitamins. To be honest, I think there’s too much information available to the point where it’s more confusing than helpful. Let’s keep it simple, buy and take a multivitamin period. Regardless if it’s from GNC, Target, Costco, CVS, where ever. Chances are we are not eating all the right amounts of fruits, vegetables, grains, etc to satiate all of the vitamins and minerals our bodies need to operate efficiently on a daily basis. Unless of course you are advised by a medical professional not to take one, go ahead and do so.
Now that you’ve committed to taking one, the next challenge is remembering to take it daily. I struggle the most when I travel and forget to take them with me. I now always pack them along with my toiletries to make sure I do not forget them. It’s a matter of making the act of taking them daily a habit. Couple it with something else you do daily until it becomes routine and you no longer need to consciously think about. Examples are keeping them by your toothbrush take them right after or before you brush. Keep them by the coffee pot and make it a habit to take them before having your coffee. Keep some extra in your car and at work in the event you forget to take them at home.

Although I no longer take Flintstone vitamins, I do take Gummy Vitamins. Still a kid at heart I guess.
