How To Create More Time

Is it possible to create more time?

Yes, it is possible to create more time.

There are so many places, people, and things we can invest our time and energy into.

Regardless of where you’re from, where you live, what you do, how much money you have, there’s one thing we’ve all been given equal share of…

And that is time.

The Way We Spend Our Time Defines Who We Become

We all get the exact same amount of seconds, minutes, and hours per day.

How, where, what, and who we decide to invest our time on is the differentiating factor.

Sleep an extra hour or get up and get in a one hour workout?

Watch television for an hour or go for an hour walk?

Spend 30 minutes driving to get fast food or 30 minutes cooking a healthy meal at home?

Sit and reflect on how far you have still to go or on how far you have come?

How do you spend your time?

Better yet, what are you spending your time on?

I don’t have time, I don’t have time, I don’t have time“… A phrase I hear often when the discussion is exercise.

One of the best and most powerful exercises I ever did for myself what to take stock of how I spend my time on any given day.

How To Create More Time

For one entire day, take inventory on what you spend your time on.

Write it all down.

Everything.

Don’t leave anything out.

Surfing the web for 10 minutes, talking to a friend or neighbor for 5 minutes.

I’ve done this exercise several times now and always get surprised with what I discover as far as how and where I spend my time during any given day.

I always end up identifying an hour or more of what I consider, “wasted time“.

What is “wasted time?”

I define wasted time as unintentional actions, such as reading meaningless articles, completing unimportant tasks, or looking through social media – anything that’s providing me no value.

It’s time I could spend on more intentional and important things such as exercise, preparing a healthy meal, taking a walk, reading, or connecting with family and friends.

If by chance you currently feel like you don’t have time to exercise, I encourage you to complete this exercise.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll discover you have plenty of “wasted time” you could be dedicating to exercising or doing more of what will make you awesome, happy, and fulfilled.

Time Is Precious, Spend It Wisely

Our future is being created, shaped, and molded by every single decision we make today in terms of where, how, and what we decide to spend our time on.

I say we take the precious limited time that we’ve been given and invest it in ourselves to feel, live, and be the absolute best we can be.

Not just for ourselves either, but for those around us who we care for and love because when we’re at our best, everything and everyone else around us flourished because of it.

The way we spend our time ultimately defines who and what we become.

You’re already awesome but what the heck, why not invest more time in yourself and in your well being and become even more awesome…

You’re worth it you know.

Cheers!

Mike
