Success Isn’t A Matter Of Luck, It’s A Matter Of Effort

Achievement is defined as something done successfully, typically by effort, courage, or skill.

When we successfully achieve the goals we set out to achieve, we gain a sense of fulfillment.

This feeling of fulfillment then gives us a sense of satisfaction and happiness. It makes sense then why we set goals for ourselves. We’re looking for that sense of fulfillment and happiness that comes from achieving our goals.

Why then do so many of us fail to achieve or fall short of reaching our goals and gaining that sense of fulfillment and happiness that we want and that feels so good?

The answer can be found within the definition of achievement itself….

Achievement takes effort.

~ NOTHING WORTH HAVING EVER COMES EASY ~

Unfortunately, this explains then why less than 2% of all dieters in the United States are successful with losing weight, why 87% of all US employees are unsatisfied in their current job or career, and why 50% of all marriages end in divorce.

All very sad facts and statistics.

LuckyIn order for us to be successful and achieve happiness in any one of these areas mentioned above, whether it’s our health, career, or relationships, it takes effort on our part to make it happen.

Losing weight doesn’t come easy, it’s diligence and hard work.

Finding a career or starting a new business that’s fulfillment and brings you happiness is a very big challenge that takes time, effort, and perseverance.

Relationships, all relationships especially those with our spouses or significant other takes enormous amounts of patience, love, and respect to be successful and go the distance.

Effort is essential for all success.

It’s not the person who has access to all the best health and fitness resources that will lose weight successfully but the person who persists and gives it their all that will lose the weight.

It’s not the person with the best idea, solution, or business that will succeed but instead the person who is willing to sacrifice more of their time and effort that will come out on top.

It’s not always (but certainly possible) the perfect couple that seems to have everything going for them who make it and have a successful marriage but more so those who are willing to listen, learn, love and respect their significant other that will go the distance.

effort.

Regardless of where you’re from, where you live, your social status, financial status, your childhood, background, whatever it may be…. we all have the ability to make the effort.

Effort is a choice.

Our successes, all our successes are a matter of effort.

[box]We Only Fail When We Stop Trying”[/box]

No one ever said success would come easy. If it did, we would all be successful. Wouldn’t that be awesome!

Unfortunately it doesn’t quite work that way.

The good news though is that success isn’t a matter of chance, it’s a matter of choice.

We’re all capable of being successful….if we so choose, AND put in the effort.

DECIDE YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL + EFFORT = SUCCESS

If you’re not willing to put in the effort, don’t expect anything in return.

Where have you decided to be successful? What efforts have you made to create your success? Please share your experiences in the comments below so that we may all learn from each other.

  • Thanks for the post Mike!

One of the hardest things I ever did was to train and run my first marathon and then by a bike, take up swimming and biking for the first time since being a child and finishing a half-ironman 8 weeks later.

I have know idea how I managed this and I only wish to find that courage, energy and determination to meet my current goals.

    • Thanks John! Wow, congrats on completing the marathon and half-ironman, awesome! Two very challenging accomplishments that you were able to make happen. If you were able to do that, I have no doubt you’ll find the same courage, energy, and determination to meet your current goals. Perhaps you can apply the same planning and effort to your current goals that you did to your marathon and half-iron training. Looks to me like you certainly have it in you. Just a matter of choice.
