I believe.
I believe I am capable.
I believe I am good enough.
I believe I am smart enough.
I believe in who I am.
I believe in others.
Believe.
“BELIEVE YOU CAN AND YOU’RE HALFWAY THERE.”
A few months ago I had some bracelets created with the writing “The Wellness Bucket” on them.
I was thrilled when they arrived at my house. I was smiling ear to ear as I opened the box and put one of the bracelets on my own wrist. I looked at it for a while and just smiled.
I smiled because of why I had bought the bracelets to begin with. I smiled because of the meaning behind each bracelet. I smiled because of the bracelets symbolism and the message that would be conveyed by every single person who would commit to wearing the bracelet.
A message of confidence, of strength, of belief in ourselves and in others. A reminder that we are capable, we are good enough, smart enough.
A message that we believe in ourselves and in all that is possible.
As many of you know, I did not have a positive support system growing up. I was told early off, at the age of 13, that I wasn’t smart enough or good enough. Chances are I wouldn’t make anything of myself and that I should just settle and take what I could get. Harsh words for anyone to ever have to receive and listen to, let alone a 13 year old kid. I spoke about it for the first time publicly last week as part ofย my first Toastmasters speechย .
As tough as it was to hear those messages as a 13 year old kid, I refused to believe them. I refused to believe I was of no value to anyone or anything. Others may have thought that, but I refused to.
Just Because Someone Doesn’t Believe In You, Doesn’t Mean You Stop Believing In Yourself.
Maybe you’ve had similar experiences as I have. Maybe there’s been times where others didn’t believe in you. Teachers, friends, family, a spouse. Maybe they told you that you weren’t good enough, or smart enough, or capable. Maybe you’ve never had others believe in you either, in who you are, and all that you’re capable of.
Whether you’re looking to lose weight, start a business, write a book, go to college or back to school, be debt free, travel the world, find love. Whatever it is you want to do, or create, or find… Here at The Wellness Bucket, you choose to believe that you can and that you will. We, as a community, as a family believe that you can and that you will as well.ย
Here at The Wellness Bucket… We Believe In Ourselves.
Here at The Wellness Bucket… We Believe In Each Other.
Those who have chosen to wear The Wellness Bucket bracelet do so as a symbol of belief in themselves. A symbol of belief in others. A symbol of belief in all that is possible when we believe; in ourselves and in each other.
It’s important to believe in ourselves. It’s important to believe in others. We all want to be believed in.
“You Must Trust And Believe In People Or Life Becomes Impossible.”
~ Anton Chekhov ~
In addition to believing in ourselves, having a community, a group, a tribe that equally believes in us as well, strengthens our own belief in ourselves and in our own unique individual abilities. When someone, even if just one person, truly believes that we are destined to do great things, the feeling becomes contagious and gives us an even higher level of confidence that has the ability to motivate us in ways that we never thought possible. ย
It takes just one person to make a difference. One person with the ability to believe in someone and make the biggest difference in someone’s life. Let’s be that person together.
Believe.
Believe in yourself.
Believe in others.
Together we can make a difference.
I recently sent some Wellness Bucket bracelets to Texas, San Diego, and India. I also had several friends take them back with them to Australia and Toronto. My family is wearing them down in Maryland. My sister Cathy, as you can see in this picture, is enjoy a glass of wine on a nice summer day with hers on. A good friend of mine Naz, from RYPL, had her son take hers and wear it himself. Never too young to believe in yourself, in others, and in the power of believing in each other.
I wear mine every single day.
It’s a constant reminder to believe in myself, in all that I am, and in all that I am capable of. It’s a reminder to believe in others as well. To support them, encourage them, motivate them, and believe in them.
If You Want To Go Fast, Go Alone. If You Want To Go Far, Go Together.
I know it’s just a bracelet, but it more than just a bracelet. It’s a statement, a belief, a movement that we are all capable of being our best and living our best; happy, healthy, and free. Together we can and we will.
